I have a feeling to the average user there isn't a major difference between the major LLM chatbots. They've all converged on pretty damn good. Even more fringe ones like Grok.
What I'm interested in is who gets the most integration. Google has Android and Search so they have a big advantage and they seem to be the first to roll out a Home voice assistants (early release started in Oct). Beating out Alexa and Apple home.
iPhone is still missing a proper Siri but they will still have control of multiple huge platforms.
xAI / Grok is stuck in the fringes a bit. Maybe they'll focus on APIs and affordable business stuff, or some social media play.
Anthropic seems to dominate in coding and API stuff as well.
I thought the same about xAI / Grok, and was surprised to see the Grok Code Fast 1 at the top of the list for number of reasoning tokens processed in Open Router’s state of AI report that came out this month:
I'm curious about Grok - is there a different version than what is used as the chatbot on X? I see a lot of ridiculous responses that people get from Grok chatbot, so it gives the impression that it isn't very good.
Sure is a slippery slope - 'do no evil' to assisting military operations. I'm sure Google today would create AI for autonomous killbots, if the contract were lucrative enough.
> Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ... promised that the platform “puts the worlds [sic] most powerful frontier AI models directly into the hands of every American warrior” and will “make our fighting force more lethal than ever before.”
what is it going to do?

This is because Grok Code Fast is free via Kilo Code/Cline and has been for months

I'm pretty sure this will mainly get used to write counselings and award speeches. Maybe to query regulations. It can only handle CUI.
This platform maybe. They always have the option of buying Google distributed cloud for air gapped deployments which includes gemini
